background info
John Ewing is a percussionist, jazz writer, television producer and educator residing in Seattle, WA. His current work includes jazz based improvisation and free sound explorations as well as film scores and studio work.
He studied percussion with Robert Brosh at Glassboro State College in New Jersey and has studied privately with drummer/record producer John Bishop in Seattle. He has played with a number of different groups and ensembles that range in style from reggae, funk, rock, groove, punk, R&B and more. In 1998 he formed the dynamic modern jazz group Reptet. In 2001 he became a member of the Monktail Creative Music Concern and is involved with such projects as Johnny and the Primordial Poo, and Non Grata.

A native of Philadelphia, PA. He has performed with legendary jazz trombonist Julian Priester and saxophonist Bert Wilson. Besides being Reptet’s founding member and leader, he is a integral member of the Monktail Creative Music Concern
